President
Meet with the principal to discuss
school plans for the year and keep them updated throughout the year.
Chair Board Meetings each month
and General Meetings 3 times per year (minimum)
Assign Board Members to the most
important committees (membership, programs, etc.)
Keep members informed and involved. Pass the jobs around.
Attend School and County sponsored
PTSA events.
Vice President
Assume duties of the president
in case of absence, and perform other duties as assigned.
Serve as Chair for the Annual
Fundraiser.
Student Vice President
Represent the student body at
Board Meetings.
Help promote Student Involvement
in PTSA events.
Secretary (Recording)
Assist the President in preparing
the Agenda.
Take Meeting Minutes and publish
them for Board Review.
Keep a permanent record of minutes,
agendas, reports and approved by-laws.
Maintain a Procedures Book.
Secretary (Corresponding)
Send all appropriate documentation
to Florida PTA as necessary.
Conduct the correspondence of
the PTSA as requested.
Keep file of all correspondence.
Prepare and coordinate copying
and distribution of any notification fliers for PTSA events.
Treasurer
Receive and disburse all monies
and keep an accurate record of all transactions.
Submit Membership dues to the
state office monthly.
Be familiar with references to
dues and finance in the local and state bylaws and the National PTA Resource Materials.
Prepare Budget with committee
and present status at monthly Board Meetings.
Submit Treasurer’s records
to the Audit committee at the fiscal year end.
